We went to the beach with our dog after I just bought the DJI Osmo Action camera. I figured it was a good opportunity to see what it can do. This video is a mash-up of several different recording modes this little device has to offer. I recorded at 30fps and 240fps, and used the Hyperlapse feature on the driving parts. This is my first attempt at putting a cinematic montage together in Davinci ...

    My Ausie gf bought me one before she came to the states. It was a cute little machine. The audio sucked, even when using a usb headset. The internal mic sat right next to the hd. Someone in the uk thought I was eating a bag of crisps. Still, I'd love to get my hands on one as well as a 486 100 mhz machine for a special project. I ran Ubuntu via usb on it and it worked nicely. Never thought it could handle win 10. Cool video

      Thank you, sir. It runs it but it's really slow. An SSD does make a very big difference. I wanted to try to put Windows 11 on it, but unfortunately, it's only available in 64-bit. This machine's CPU is 32-bit. Probably one of the very last 32-bit laptops sold. I used it throughout college and after that as a writing tool for years. Back then, laptops were way bigger and heavier, and this was a wonderful compact little machine to take anywhere. Definitely got my money's worth out of it. It got replaced with a Lenovo X250 in 2015, which is also getting older (5th gen Intel Core i5/16GB RAM), but I still use to this day to great satisfaction. I've been looking around for an ultra-light Linux distro to put on the MSI as a final video for this laptop, but unfortunately, most of those are also 64-bit only and 32-bit versions were dropped a few years ago. If you know any distros that could work, please let me know.

      @@DutchDiederik you can’t install Windows 11 on that machine because it doesn’t have the latest security hardware. There is a way to do it, but I’ve never done it. I have a Dell octopus 7050 with an I seven processor quad core multi thread 32 gig of ram and that thing won’t take windows 11. Everything I’ve heard about 11 leaves me quite happy to use Windows 10, though if I had my way, I would use Windows 7. I would love to pick up one of those little machines for malic purposes, but since I couldn’t get a battery to work for it, it’s pointless.

      @@monkiespukerabbits You can get around the security hardware limitations with some registry tricks. I got it to work on that Lenovo I mentioned in my previous reply just fine. The 32-bit thing is a physical limitation that can't be circumvented. I like Windows 11 just fine. It especially handles high resolution screens better than previous versions and things are generally more streamlined. Tabs in File Explorer is also quite nice to have. It is a mature product at this point and definitely an improvement over 10 from my experience.

    Dude, are you going to spend five hours giving opinions and rating the work of Led Zeppelin and Bonham? I mean, we know the songs dude... I would impress listeners more by playing Page's leads man... that is how I learned to shred. But, no seriously, Page is so much better than heavy metal guitarists, with the possible exception of Eddie, and anyone who plays and knows guitar knows which Eddie I'm talking about.... the Iron Maiden character. Sorry, I like my rock n' roll without too much devil... some hobbits and fantasy lit is alright, but no satanic shit.. not because I'M SCARED OF SATAN, WHO IS ACTUALLY A TRANNY ON CRYSTAL METH, BUT BECAUSE TEENAGE BOYS LOVE SATAN... AS HE REPRESENTS POWER, AND THAT IS THE ONE THING TEENAGE BOYS DON'T HAVE. AT SCHOOL AND SHIT, THEY'LL BE LIKE, "MAN, SATAN IS SO COOL!" Then the teacher interrupts their little discussion.. Beavis, turn to page 81 and begin reading aloud.... L - e - b... Ms. Huntington... this capitalized word has no vowels... how do you pronounce it?" Beavis... it's not a word... it's an acronym... LGBTQ.. never mind, Marsha, continue.... LGBTQ had its most durable impact in the early history of blues-inspired rock music, as all English rock guitarists were either Bi, Gay, Queer or Trans, with only one exception.... JIMMY PAGE! No.. it says Freddy Mercury here. He wasn't a guitarist! I hate social studies!

    On which track does Satan break into upside down and backward song and dance. YOU DON'T LIKE "YOUR TIME IS GONNA COME?" That's because Lucifer took over that session... so selfish... so satanic really... resulting in Page becoming an evangelical Christian, but Buddhist.. in Crowley's mansion, in a homosexual relationship with K Richards.

  • @alexandriaaaable
    @alexandriaaaable 22 дня назад

    Jeff Beck didn't have the songs... that is true... but he was amazing... even in the later stages of middle age, when they had some gig... and Beck tore it up, while Page was still recovering from Zepp.

    Im just kidding... I know that Jimmy was a guitarist and producer, while Led was the creation of Bon Jovi, drummer for the Who, in ancient Tibet. K. Moon was the drummer for the Who, you say. Yes, but not in ancient Tibet, where the same things existed, only in different forms. Well, in Tibet, it was Page, Jim Morrison, while Plant played bass, sort of like Flea, but only more messed up on drugs. In that parallel universe, Plant had the drug problem, which drove him into Islamic terrorism at a later stage. Just a really tragic story. Zep was a three piece in Tibet.. with Jim not only singing, but also playing keyboards. John Paul Jones tamed ant eaters in Tibet, which as anyone who knows monty python understands was the most dangerous job in Tibet, and one of the most important. Zeppelin never made money in ancient Tibet, but people liked them, and everyone praised Page so much that Tibet's neighbors simply could not fathom why this Page fellow was so important. This whole universe simulation theory is freaky man. By the way, I'm the trombone player for Cream, the lead trombone.

    The first strat Ritchie played was given to him by one of roadies from Eric Clapton, the neck was bent so Clapton most likely didn't want it. Ritchie found in the beginning that the strat quite a handfull to play, much less forgiving than his Gibson, which he found to be to generic sound wise. He found the strat to be much more cutting and dynamic.

    In convinced that's why Plant hates singing Stairway. He was young and up Jimmy's ass back then. Stairway has occult oozing from it. Plant grew up and realized this crap isn't for me. It reminds him of a time when he was completely under Jim's spell. And probably believed this was the reason for the bands immediate success. He was only 19 when he joined do you blame him?? Anyway that's my easily disprovable theory lol

    Jimmy was influenced by the first Jeff Beck group I would say it wasn't until the third album that Zep did more then super charge the blues an 50's rock an really became their own unique dynamic thing, an a lot of this was because they were strong on a lot of front John was arguably the greatest hard rock drummer John P was very talented himself, an Robert managed to rise to the occasion. But Jeff Beck definitely influenced Jimmy, the fact of the matter is Jimmy wanted to form a super group with Beck for the longest time. But Beck would never stay committed to something like that, an they both went down different interesting roads.

    Hows it going guys? I scratched Jimmy Pages guitar while doing work at his house in 2016, wasnt even my fault - he was on something and trying to have me hold his guitar and let go before my hands were there, i caught it but the bottom swung and hit other guitar and scratched it. The guy he talks about in interviews that is supposed to have ducked him and he can't find him - thats me, only i didn't duck him and he's been fucking with me the whole time. He could have filed an ins claim even tho it wasn't my fault but wants me to pay. He has half way stalked me ever since calling all my employers, random messages here and there. He flips between he is sorry and I owe him a million dollars for his guitar. In 2021 I think while in an I'm sorry conversation he told me he had put a curse on me in 2016 and didn't know how to take it back. He still follows me and calls my employers to screw up my job. I can't say i believe in curses, but if i sat down and told you how pathetic my life is you might say could be something to that. Anybody interested in that feel free to hit me up.

    Much of your characterization of Jimmy Page is accurate. However, the groupies were not naive. They knew the game and they played it also for their own purposes. And call it either brazen and weird, or disingenuous and an awkward form of propriety, Page did at least meet Lori's parents, and even had their blessing to date their daughter. Also, for what it's worth, it is perhaps a strange form of irony that despite Page's dark proclivities, he is the only member of Led Zeppelin that can say he was not an adulterer (yes, even JPJ dipped the wick on more than one occasion) , as he avoided marriage until after Zeppelin came to an end - never actually marrying Charlotte Martin who was his long term girlfriend. And he liked them young? Aside from Lori, who else that we know of was underage? I'm not saying this isnt true, but aside from hearsay, who else do we actually know of aside from Lori that was underage? And regarding Page's addiction, he did comment on it. He said he quit cold turkey in 1983. He said he locked himself in his home in London and "climbed the walls for four days" and then it was over.

    Thanks for this long form open ended deep dive very insightful and fun discussion. I'm curious, do you know for a fact that they cleaned up Plant's voice here and there when producing the 02 concert audio for release? What are you basing this on? Were you there? Have you heard an un-doctored recording? If so, I'd like to get a hold of this. I must admit I will be disappointed if Plant's voice was treated because I was blown away by how great he sang, how natural and relaxed his voice was, and how he really hit some notes he hasn't hit in a long while. So I'll be a bit crestfallen if it turns out his voice was altered to any significant degree. Regarding Stairway, of course Page heard the Spirit song and one could possibly say Page copped the lick, But so what? If anything It's a nod to a good piece of music. Definitely not grounds for plagiarism. But otherwise, definitely there was an attitude of let them come after us later. Very glaring with the blues stuff. I'm glad it eventually all got fixed. It is a bit of a blot on their record though any way you look at it. And you made a good point about Page's odd ego-driven intransigence over giving credit, which is baffling and entirely unnecessary. But its a part of who he is. Only child syndrome....lol. However, I always thought Black Mountain Side was a traditional song, not a Jansch original composition. Could be wrong, but seem to remember learning this at some point some years back. I'll have to revisit.
